What a good digital camera for shooting sports (soccer and football fields) in low light?
I am an amateur, has been using a Kodak Easy Share DX7590 and believe it or not, can often save images in Photoshop, but I'm ready to go to a camera body and interchangeable lenses. Suggestions?
I somewhat disagree with previous posters so I'll throw my two cents. Since you're an amateur, probably no need to put much money on your camera. Obviously, the more you spend, the more you get, but you can get good results for less than $ 1,000. I suggest you take a look at the Canon XTi XSi o. These cameras Canon SLR cameras are low quality and can be found $ 500 - $ 700. You might also consider looking for a Canon 20D or 30D on Ebay. They are the next step after the XTi / XSI and since you are few older generations can be found for $ 400 - $ 600. Another search option in the line Nikon SLR. I do not know much, so can not give you good advice. However, I know that people are happy with the D40 and D60. A Once you have a camera, you'll need a goal. The poster above 50mm f/1.4. It is a good goal, but for sports photography simply, you will not get close enough to the action. You will need a objective is measured in hundreds. It would be nice if you could get the 200mm f/2.8 but I think, probably, not money. Canon has a little less expensive lenses telephoto options. It is the 75-300mm, 300mm and 300mm 100--. 70 75 is not worth shit. I just bought 100 and I'm pretty happy with it. The 70 is more expensive, but the image stabilization - a nice feature for sports photography. The only drawback to all these objectives is that they have smaller apertures, are not surprising in the dark. Unless you have money to spend on the 200 mm f/2.8, you'll have to settle with them. To avoid camera shake due to low light will certainly want to invest in a good tripod.
