Help identifying grandmother’s old vanity item – what is it?
It is brass, I think. It is the size and shape of a lipstick tube. It has a lid that when opened has a chain connected to the inside of the lid the almost fill the entire bottom portion of the tube. At the bottom of the tube are two flowers that are raised up, each having a stone in them. THe chain is similar to a chain found on a ceiling fan, as if it is to connect to something. I am not sure that anything else would fit inside the tube. It was on her vanity tray for looks, but don’t know what it is. Can anyone help me understand if this is for jewelry, if it is antique and what exactly it is?
