Is there an electrical outlet /light switch combo that I can buy to replace my light switch in my bathroom?
My bathroom has a light fixture with one electric outlet built in under the light bulb would be. The problem is, the location of the outlet on this fixture is inconvenient because its high up on the wall and there is no room to plug in anything that has a big plug (like a hair dryer) because the plug hits the light. So what I want to do is replace the light switch that controls the light with a light switch /outlet combo. I understand that i would have to have the light on for it to work like I do now but at least where the light switch is, it would be more convenient. How do i go about doing this? If I go to home depot, what materials do I need?
One combo receptical/switch. One screwdriver. One flashlight. It will wire in where you old switch is now, using the same wiring. The receptical will be “hot”, even with the switch off. Always disconnect the Main power before working on electical circuits.
