Wait till you try to convert the lamp to batteries... not to mention the meager amount of run time you will get and the limited amount of light for anything other than high power LEDs, etc.

Most regular size room lamps are rated for roughly 60 watts, but whatever the rating, it should be marked on the lamp. Since we can't see the lamp, you have to answer this. But at any rate, what you are wanting to do is not feasible for anything other than an high power LED (which is $$$). A regular 60 watt bulb would require a battery the size and weight of a lead acid car battery for just a few hours worth of light. Then we would have issues as to how to recharge the battery plus the little detail that the lights you are talking about are AC whereas a battery supplies DC.
