LEDs have traditionally been used only for decorative purposes, typically as small blinking lights of different colors. For general lighting purposes, colors won’t do, white light is what is required. Now, white LEDs that emit bright, natural light are commonplace. They also have higher energy efficiency than the common fluorescent tubes and other traditional light sources. If one is looking at being eco-friendly and saving on energy costs, then LED is the answer. It may initially cost more, but over the course of time it pays back for the initial investment and also continues to save on energy costs. LEDs reduce direct electrical consumption, and also reduce the amount of heat produced. This helps in lowering the general load and thereby increases energy savings.
