How about a nice red brick color? I find that so attractive. You could do half and half by repainting the wall a darker sage and put the brick color in the kitchen. Or, you could just paint one wall darker sage green or brick and then the rest the lighter sage. I totally agree with you; no white or beige. That would ruin the gray in the couch.

Just a suggestion but it sure sounds pretty to me and I have seen this in the newer homes.

The couch is looking washed out because of the gray in it. Perhaps some throw pillows of a darker gray or green would help some as well.
