Ceiling fan runs slowly at same speed on all settings.?
It makes no difference what pull-chain setting — including OFF — same speed. I switched fans, bypassed wall speed controller — same problem. It was working fine a few days ago. Only things I have not tried are swapping the circuit breaker (GFI) or bypassing the wiring.
Also switched circuits putting the fan on the light circuit — same problem (and the lights were bright) so not the circuit breaker. The suggestion that it was a switch does not “compute” since I have swapped switches on the fan and bypassed the wall switch entirely.
Tested the capacitor and switch — both are working correctly. Some hum is now evident from fan.
Installed the tested control unit and the fan now works???? I suspect a bad connector (or user error?).
