If, like most things that spin, the blades follow the “right thumb screw rule” take your right hand and curve your fingers so that the fingers point in the direction of the spin. Your thumb is now pointing in the direction the air is being pushed in.

Dust forms on the blades so that this push or pull is decreased. Test before and after dusting and you will be able to feel the direction.
