Hot Bedroom, technician said $1200 to balance house????
One bedroom in the house is the farthest away from the air condition unit. Only one other vent on the duct, I closed it off. I put tinted film on the windows and installed a ceiling fan. 3 years old, double pain windows, good insulation, 1500sq feet, 1 story.
The tech said only solution is to balance the whole house. Is there anything else I can do?
Is $1200 an average cost for balanceing? Live in Houston
Have another HVAC company look into installing a booster fan in the duct that serves the bedroom…probably run a hundred or so. Or install a separate window or wall mount a/c unit for that room…maybe run a couple hundred or so….1200.00 is crazy. Make sure all the duct seams are taped or sealed to prevent air loss.
