When I keep my thermostat?

I have a Honeywell thermostat. During the winter (I live in Colorado) I kept my thomerstat set at 72 degrees and was in "heat" position. I have three options, "Heat", "out" and "cool". Now that summer is, I plan to turn the thermostat about 78 degrees, but I'm not sure to turn to "off" or "cold". I am a fan set to "automatic". I want to save as much money as possible, but do not know the best way to do it. My only good 780 square meters, and I have two ceiling fans. Thank you for the help:)

fans off and running with the windows open is not very different forms of the set at 78. atleast until mid-June I have not used mine just a fan with open windows. ultimately depends on low prices, it really is how uncomfortable it gets. Each person is different. do what you believe to be best, but remember that the use of less saves more.
