Each new school year, teachers have the challenge of decorating their classroom in a manner that will be fun and exciting for their students, but also to create an atmosphere conducive to active learning. This is no easy task, but one rule of thumb to keep in mind is to think outside the box when brainstorming about decorating ideas. Decorating a classroom with lights is one idea you can easily incorporate that will welcome your students and create a positive atmosphere at the same time.

The holidays are often the time people think of decorating their homes, classrooms, offices, and businesses with Christmas lights. However, Christmas lights can be used throughout the year for pretty much every occasion.

Use the seasons of the year to use different colors of lights in the classroom. White mini lights are ideal any time of the year and can be used alone or in conjunction with other colors to create a specific theme. Orange and yellow mini lights or C7 light sets are ideal for creating a fall theme in the classroom. If your classroom has the space, create a scarecrow and hay bale theme in one corner.
