DLP TV bulbs and lamps are what keeps the picture from the projector or your TV bright and vibrant. When the bulb starts to fade you will notice that the picture becomes dull and eventually the picture will fade out completely when the bulb dies. The easiest way to find out what type of DLP lamp replacement your TV or projector takes is to check the manual that came with it. If you threw your manual away or can’t locate it, you can check online using your TV’s manufacturer and model to see what type of DLP lamps you need. You can also check the back of your television set to see if it is listed or even check the old lamp for a model number.

To find the old lamp look at the back of your TV and locate the square panel that can be removed by unscrewing the cover. Carefully unscrew and remove the panel and you should find the bulb in a square box. More often then not, the model will be listed on the outside of that box. If you are replacing the bulb in a projector then you should be able to find it behind a similar panel as well.

Once you know what type of DLP lamps you need, you can order them online or find an electronics parts store in your area. Since these types of parts can be a bit expensive, be sure to compare prices and find the best deal possible. If you have more than one of the same type of TV or projector you may also want to see about bulk pricing to see if you can get a discount by buying more than one DLP lamp replacement.

After you have your lamp, installation is quite simple. Return to the panel you removed when looking for the model number of the lamp, remove it again, dust the interior carefully with a microfiber cloth and switch out the two bulbs. It is important to make sure your TV or projector is cool when doing this as well so you may need to let it sit in a powered down state for a while.

By taking the time to get the proper replacement bulb for your TV or projector, you can effectively save yourself hundreds of dollars by simply replacing your burnt out DLP bulbs instead of buying a whole new machine. If you notice the picture from your projector or television starting to dull out, remember that you can easily bring back the vibrancy with new DLP lamps.

The projector is an SIM2 Seleco SDV100. The number is on the filament, or otherwise the lamp without the reflector and is held in place with ceramic cement. It is supposed to be replaceable.

The “C*” really doesn’t help make the search very easy. You also didn’t specify the make and model number of the projector. You can go to http://www.betterlamps.com/ and search for the make and model. They have a very good selection of lamp replacements.
