What is a good color pallet to use on the exterior of a Federal Home?

We just purchased a brick home in Tennessee that is a Federal Design on the exterior. We want to use light colors for all except the shutters. We do not want to use blues.

Pale yellow with dark green shutters, the yellow looks nice with against landscaping and flowers and always seems warm and inviting.
