I had a 93 like yours years ago.The same message came up saying there was a tail light problem.It was hard to find out that a bulb in the third brake light,on top of the glass,was burned out.I replaced it and the message still stayed on.I found the bulb was a substitute and worked but didn’t satisfy the computer.I had to go to the dealer for the required bulb[s] that finally let the message shut off.
I don’t know exactly what the problem is with the heat/ac. The blend door[they call it] isn’t moving.It’s controlled by vacum as you know.It may help to crawl under the dash and look for a loose line.The vacum supply line comes from the engine compartment and may be disconnected under there.
Got the 4.0L motor? There really isn’t much that will make it go faster.
