What are the brightest, best energy saving light bulbs in the UK? Bayonet fitting?
I really wish I had stockpiled the good old energy guzzlers, I can’t stand dim light most of the time, and when I want low light I will put my floor lamp on! I find dim light depressing, genuinely. So if I have no choice, what are the very brightest energy saving bulbs I can get? Thanks!
Thanks blackgru, for your answer, but would you say it ends up as bright as a 100w bulb? I have had some before which were supposed to be equal to 100w and they certainly were not as bright, nowhere near so! but I will consider them, though I don’t think I can get to an Ikea.

I have seen 25 watt energy saving bulbs for sale (initially equivalent to 125 watt tungsten bulb).
However, note that energy saving lamps will get dimmer over time.
You can still buy traditional 100 watt bulbs from some smaller shops, and if you want brighter, look for Osram Halogen Energy Saver GLS or Halogen A bulbs.
