I think he is being overhyped right now. Yes the guy shows loads of potential, but lets look at the facts so far. He threw for over 400 yards the first two games of his career, which he should have since he threw the ball over 90 times in the first two games. None the less, his first two games were very impressive.

Since then, he has gradually been coming down in passing yards and throwing a lot of interceptions. For the year he has 7 touchdowns and 9 interceptions ( Not very impressive). His overall QB Rating is 84 (Average). He is 1-5 as a starter in the NFL.

At this point Newton would have to be considered Rookie of the Year, but there is a QB who is getting NO attention who is a rookie and has a very worthless team sitting at 4-2. I am talking about Andy Dalton of Cincinnati. Let’s not give the rookie of the year award away yet. As the season progresses, I think Dalton will make a good case for being rookie of the year.
