Sports photography….will my set up be ok?
ive been asked to do some photography at a rugby match. It will be an evening match in a flood lit stadium.
I have a Canon EOS 450D body, and the lens i have is a tamron LD 70-300mm, at full zoom the widest aperture is f5.6.
The pictures wont be for publishing or anything, just for some experience, just wondering how my kit will hold up under the lighting conditions, any advice would be great, thanks
You will need to get your ISO setting up to 1600 minimum and even then with a 5.6 you will be pushing it to get a decent enough shutter speed to prevent camera shake etc.
For those conditions you need a fast lens and a monopod. Even shooting at 2.8 most pros will be pushing the ISO to 800 or 1600.
