high iso – so he can get a higher shutter speed – probably shooting at 1/500 to almost freeze the water –

using a very fast lens – probably a f/2.8 70-200mm or maybe even a 50mm 1.4

tons of light – probably a huge softbox to get that even illumination

lotsa photoshop – obviously doing selective color filters, desaturating the subjects, boosting the vibrance on the helmets and tattoos…
