LED fixtures generate almost no heat because the LED bulbs are an energy saving 3 watts each, which also provides up to 70% energy savings over a comparable xenon or fluorescent fixture. These high intensity, low voltage bulbs provide a more even distribution of light and a high level of color rendition. So if you have expensive counter tops or a beautiful glass back splash LED under cabinet lighting will ensure the true colors are highlighted. The food that you are preparing will look beautiful as well.

LED fixtures are very slim which allows the fixture to be placed nearer the front of the cabinet. Bringing the light forward ensures the light will be distributed directly to the middle of the work surface. The LED system is fairly easy to install and comes with a host of options that you won’t find with other systems, like a 3 level dimmer, a night light and multiple fixture sizes from an 18″ strip to a 3″ puck light. While there are many choices in fixture size, you will want to avoid mixing manufacturers to ensure color uniformity. Not all LED’s are created equal and some have varying degrees of light level.
