Does non-glare glass in picture frames prevent a reflection from a light fixture?
I’m having trouble wording my question! I am redecorating. I have a framed picture that I want to hang in my dining area. In that area is a hanging light pendant with white globe. The lighting fixture reflects in the glass of the art work, making it impossible to see the subject matter of the picture. Right now I have a piece of unframed canvas art in the area, so there is no glare. But I am getting new furniture and I want to use the print under glass – traditionally framed. It’s perfect! My question, I guess, is if I took the print to a frame shop and had the glass replaced with non-glare glass, would I still get a reflection of the lighting fixture? Or does the non-glare stop that?
Non Glare glass would probably reduce, but not eliminate all of the glare. As an artist I have to add that I don’t like non glare glass on my work because it makes some of the detail fuzzy and changes the value of the colors. Changing the height, if that is an option, might eliminate the glare. Many people put their art work too high. It should be at eye level. Good Luck
