The style of the bathroom is one of the most visible aspects of a beautiful bathroom. Before rushing into the renovation of your bathroom you should carefully think about the style and look that you are after.

You need to consider the two distinct moods that a bathroom well have.

Speed is important in the morning because normally you will want to get clean and out the door in the fastest time possible. Minimalist/Modern

Not everyone is a fan of minimalist living spaces, but there is something very relaxing and Zen-like about bathrooms that have reduced the elements to the bare minimum. This can be a very good approach if you have a smaller bathroom

In this style of bathroom you should keep colour to a minimum. White, neutral colours and pale greens are used because restful. A sculptural effect can be created by using simple wall mounted basins or basins mounted on plinths.

The shower should also be kept simple. A fully enclosed shower cubicle tends to divide a room, so you could consider a carefully designed wet-room which can be incorporated into the space without the need for partitions. Or a single floor to ceiling glass panel or a tiled half-height dividing wall to contain splashes, while maintaining a feeling of spaciousness

Good storage is necessary to avoid clutter, because one of the reasons they call it minimalist is because of the lack of clutter

Modern Colonial

Originally a colonial bathroom was not a place to linger. They were often had an erratic supply of hot-water and no heating; it was more often about function than luxury. But today’s modern colonial bathroom style has taken the best of Victorian-styling and combined it with 21st century function to create bathrooms that are both beautiful and functional.

If you plan the bathroom’s location well you can preserve your privacy, while allowing doors or windows to be opened onto courtyards, gardens, or views

The use of high windows or skylights can be a great way to bring shafts of natural light into the bathroom

Putting simple bowl shaped basins in your bathroom which can be either wall-hung, mounted on plinths or on top of simple cabinets will give the illusion of a ‘wash-stand’

Spa resorts have open recessed shelves, built into walls which are great for holding towels, toiletries and candles and lost of other things

Have a good task lighting system around the mirror area so you have plenty of light for make-up and shaving, but have ambient lighting also so you can create a nice relaxed atmosphere for your bathroom at night.

I was widley criticized on these boards for even hinting that the actions of the captured British sailors were not in keeping with the norms for proper conduct under enemy capture. No matter, that I myself have a military background, have been in combat and never in my posts said mean things nor used words like cowardly etc., only such words as inappropirate behavior for them to smile and laugh with the Iranian president and to admit wrong-doing on camera and to thank the Iranians for their gracious captivity, and to take home t shirts and bags of pistachio nuts from Iran. Can it get much cheesier? Now it comes to light that these same sailors have just sold their stories to the tabloids for half a million bucks. I am sure the left winger apologists will still find reason to fault my logic. Yes, I will be told these poor brave souls were not breast fed as infants, were scolded by their superiors or yelled at by their mothers and therefore, one can not expect more from them.

I hate to admit it, but I do not understand todays world anymore.
