For something more modern you can easily find hanging lights with fine glass shades that can incorporate some delicate filigree motifs. Basically you have an endless array of styles when it comes to lights hanging from the ceiling. These can be practically used anywhere, except maybe for the kitchen and bathroom.

It is important to notice the room style before buying your lights, because having something heavy in a very delicate style room decor will stick out and will be quite ugly. So the lighting fixture needs to match the room ambient quite well.

For other areas such as the hallways, bathrooms or bedrooms, wall sconces are perfect. You can find so many different types of these illumination fixtures, it’s sometimes quite difficult to settle on one pair. It is important to note that when you buy your sconces, you need to get at least two. The reason is because they are usually placed at the both sides of an item. For example you can place them at the both sides of the bed in the bedroom, or at the both ends of a wall mirror in your bathroom.
