Why not turn the light on my ceiling fan / trip of a lamp switch?

There was a breeze harbor ceiling fan in the kitchen lights and the fan works well. One day, the fan stopped working. I attempted repair with no luck, so I bought a new fan. Admittedly, I bought almost solely on price, you need something cheap in a hurry. Harbor Breeze fan I have another, but the cheapest 52 "they sell (Armitage - Series Builder). I installed exactly the same as above, was installed with the black (fan) and blue (light) and the black hot wire to neutral. The fan works well, but when I pull the chain to turn the light switch is triggered. Power is old in my house (most are the knob and tube), but I've never had any other limitation with it. Why use both light and fan on this trip, the new unit of the switch when not using light and fan of the old drive?
