How can I decorate around a load bearing column that is in the center of a room?
I am looking to buy a specific home however a downfall in it is a load bearing column (already boxed off) in the center of the room, I assume it was two rooms and it was combined for a larger area, it is the back room of the house. I am completely unsure of what to do with it I can’t use it as a sitting room because using only have the room there is not enough space. Someone suggested I should but a half bar off the column to take up space but I don’t drink. Any other suggestions? There is already a living room, there is no dining room however this particular room is in the opposite side of the house than the kitchen.
wow sometimes people make really bad decisions when remodeling! contact a local architect and see if the column can be moved and what the cost and effort it would be.then see if you can negotiate that into the price of the house.if not they sell some really nice decorative coverings for just that at least if its a random boxed in pole mid room it can be a more attractive one!
