this depends on the wattage of the generator…the absolute rule of thumb is that if you exceed 80 % of the full load of the generator it will burn up…..a 2000 watt generator would run a refrigerator and about 6 100 watt bulbs….to figure the wattage needed you can multiply the amps times the volts to get the watts…..the more items you want to run the more watts your generator needs to be…..so if your load will be 1700 watts then you need 2000 watt generator….
