I would think that first you would need to be sure that the fire was a direct result of the light company turning the lights back on. If there was an investigation into the fire, then the fire marshal should have this information.
If they show that it WAS in direct relation to the turning on of the electricity, contact a lawyer.
I know you have mentioned that you are having financial hardship over this, and I can understand that. When looking for a lawyer, check to see if you can find one that will take the case and not charge you anything unless they win the case.
You might also check with your insurance company to see what kind of coverage you have. If the coverage is there, then maybe you could possibly use the money to find a lawyer, if you can’t find one to take the case as I mentioned above.
