The fact is the govt overspends on everything… If they would go back to doing the one job they should be doing and get out of the private sector we could afford to be protected. For your analagy you forgot to mention you are giving money to your lazy brother on your couch that refuses to work, you have a extended relative from mexico that takes (whatever the equivalent of 10 billion a year per state in this analagy is) from you. You have a savings account for your kids that they put money into but you continually take it back out for your self to give to someone else. etc etc If you would prioritize and quit trying to be a good person and do what needs to be done you could afford it.
