How do I hook up the ceiling fan to the switch correctly?
Can I hook up a ceiling fan without running another wire to the outlet?
I have an outlet, half is hot, and half is controlled by the switch.
My connection is as follows: the outlet has one red and one black on the hot side and two whites on the neutral side with a small white wire bridgeing the two neutral posts.
I have my fan installed and have wires running from the fan to a junction box next to were the wires come up the wall from the switch.
take the hot wire that goes to fan and break it those hot ends go to switch and neutral passes switch never actually hits switch hope this helps good luck
