how to make a ceiling fan brighter?
We bought a ceiling fan that goes PERFECT with our kitchen, but once we installed in we realized that it only takes three 40-watt candelabra bulbs – the kind with the tiny bases. I’ve always felt that a kitchen should be bright – but now it’s the dimmest room in the house. Is there any easy way to make the ceiling fan brighter? is it safe to add 60 watt bulbs in there if it says 40 watt max? or is it possible and easy to add a new light fixture on to the fan itself, one that can take brighter bulbs?
Do not use higher than the rated bulbs for the fixture. It can’t handle the heat that a higher wattage bulb produces. You can look at HD, Lowe’s, or a lighting store for a different fixture. Most are pretty standard, so you should be OK. The wiring inside will handle more wattage than you are using, so that shouldn’t be an issue. 4-60W bulbs will draw 240W, or 2 amps. Good luck.
