How to install a ceiling fan?

I was just wondering what kind if work is needed to install a ceiling fan in my apt? Do I just hook it up on the sealing with screws?
I dont have existing wiring theres like no light fiixture is just a normal ceiling

You cannot just install a ceiling fan on any box in a ceiling!!! The box must be fan approved to hold the weight of the fan. Some boxes are plastic or fiber if they are of this nature you CANNOT install a ceiling fan on these at all. The NEC allows a standard metal box with 8/32 screws if secured with proper size screws #6 or larger if mounted on a support that can hold up to 35 pounds for the weight of a ceiling fan. If the fan weighs more then that you must use a box that is capable fo hold that much weight and it must secured properly for this installation. A FAN BOX U L APPROVED. These boxes use a 10/24 screw to hold the weight of the fan to the box.
You can use a swag hook if it is mounted in the stud and a cord wired to the fan but it has to be able to be disconnected from the fan a plug in would work and the wires must be exposed not hidden. behind the wails etc..
If you have no wires this is your best bet anyway and then I think the apt management will just charge you for filling the hole in the ceiling or you could do this very easily with spackling compound anyway.
