Can I operate more than one device on a 12v to 120v power inverter?
I want to use my car as an emergency generator next hurricane season, so I’m going to buy a 12v DC to 120v AC power converter (150 watt output) that plugs into my car’s cigarette lighter. It only has one outlet, but with an extension cord I hope to power a 60-watt lamp, 4-watt boombox and 36-watt fan. The car will be idling in the driveway, so no danger of draining the battery. Any problems with this arrangement?
Not a great idea, but will do for short periods and only under the sum of watts listed on data plates.operate one at a time for longer period.
