Does the UV light over my beardies 55gal tank need to extend across the ENTIRE tank?
That’s a 48 inch bulb! huge! Do I have to have it the whole way across, or do I just need part of the tank? Do I link two UV lamps about 24 inches each in two seperate fixtures? Also, what do I need for a beardie between UVA and UVB, and what are the best means of getting them at the right amount? (What wattage and all that jazz)
INFO ON TANK: 55 gallons, 48 inches long, glass, reptile carpet, a couple rocks which will be used for basking and hide spots, a food dish and small water dish, and a baby beardie coming in a week or so from now.
if the tank is 4 feet long a 3 foot UV tube will be fine as long as the beardie can get within 1 foot of it as i believe uv lights only project uv for one foot.
the uv tube should cover most of the tank and i would probably not use a uv tiube shorter than 3 foot for a 4 foot viv
