what gauge wire should I use for low voltage lighting in my kitchen?

I'm low voltage wiring, cabinet lights transformer remote disk (connected to the outlet in a closet), and I wonder what kind of cable extending from the 300w magnetic transformer. some have suggested lamp cord or speaker cable is enough? but if so, what gauge? I'm running 10w halogen four games between 4 and 10 feet on one side. On the other hand, more 1x10w halogen pendant 2x50W halogen. any suggestions appreciated!

We are missing a vital piece of information - specifically tension in the low voltage side. It is not the voltage but the current in amperes you need to know. Suppose the low voltage side has 24 volts in my examples: 1. a side has 4 watts to 10 games, drawing 40 watts, 40 watts and 24 volts = 1.7 amps. I assume that is a single cycle and nothing else is in it. The 1.7 amp, you can easily use # 18 AWG 2. On the other hand has 1 and 2 to 10 watts - 50 watts draws a total of 110 watts, 110 volts watt/24 = 4.6 amp, # 18 AWG is fine for this too. If the voltage on the back is higher than 24 volts, the current consumption is even smaller and I would stick w # 18 AWG anyway, since it is quite easy to obtain and work with them. If the voltage is 12 volts, the amplifier is based are 3.4 and 9.2, respectively, the amplifier side 9.2 which I would consider # 16 AWG to be sufficient to do the job as # 18 is a little light for the job. Again, remember I guess that is running two different lines, one for each side.
