What do you think about pendant lights about the dining table?
So, I have a living room that flows into the dining room; imagine one rectangular room, but it’s actually 2 rooms. I am putting a ceiling fan in the living area and have been searching for a smaller chandelier to go above the dining table, something that wouldn’t overcrowd the room or take away from the huge fireplace in the back wall or away from the amazing fan I got. I hadn’t envisioned a single pendant above the table, but I think it’s small, simple and will work well for the room. I’m just afraid that people with wonder what the heck I was thinking putting a pendant light for a table fixture (as this is how my husband and sister reacted). What do you think? Should I return it and get a small “normal” dining fixture, or do you think it will look good with a single pendant above the table?
I really think that a pendant light is too small for over a dining room table. you should try to find a small chandlelier. I think a pendant light is more appropreate for a breakfast bar or something along those lines. Maybe some kind of resessed lighting would be nice, or lights on tracks I think those always have a big wow factor on people. And with those kind you can direct the light to what are suits you best.
