Floor Lamps
We pin together three antlers to serve as the base and add two antlers to the top of this base to get the desired height. We drill the antlers with a 5/16 X14″ bit in a zigzag pattern the entire length of the beams to conceal the cord. From hardware outlets, we purchase lamp wiring kits that include wiring, switch, harp, and socket. The socket base is glued to the hole through the top antler. We fill the holes in the antler from zigzag pattern with a mixture of antler sawdust and super glue. Then, we sand the filled places. The whole thing is then coated with polyurethane.

Table Lamps
They are made in the same fashion as the floor lamps—just shorter. We use elk, whitetail and mule deer antlers for these.

I’ve seen this question come up a few times. I’m not sure how detailed the responses have been, but use the orange search button (antler lamps) and you should come up with some other information.
As for my input, I’m in the process of compiling an e-book that will give detailed pictures and examples. But the basics are quite simple. I recommend starting with a single antler lamp to get the basics.
1) Experiment with antler arrangement until you come up with an eye pleasing presentation. For a table lamp the antlers should be arranged in a manner that is sturdy and self supporting. Rebuilding a tine or two might be necessary to achieve balance and/or support.
2) Decide how the cord is going to travel through your antler(s). Mark the path using straight lines with chalk. The lines should be straight and form a zig zag of intersecting lines when complete.
3) Use the longest drill bit you can find (14″) and drill straight through the antler using the lines as guides. You will have unwanted entrance and exit holes that you will fix later. The main point is that you will have a channel for the cord.
4) Drill out the seat for the light fixture.
5) Thread the cord through the channel.
6) Hook up the wire to the fixture/socket and epoxy the socket in place.
7) Repair holes with tinted sculpting material (magic sculp). Finish by staining antler and buffing with steel wool.
