i dont follow? are you assuming because it says 120 volts and it has 5 bulb locations that 120 divided by 5 gives you 24 volts per bulb? 120 volts is a way of measuring input power to a device. pretty much all standard devices in your house are wired for 120 volts. with the exception of dryer/oven/ac…these are wired 240…basicly this means there is an extra wire carrying power to the device (for 240 volts). standard devices (lights, outlets, etc) require a hot wire, a neutral wire and a ground (this is to provide 120 volts), 240 typically has 2 hot wires, a neutral, and a ground. all new light fixtures are required to provide the consumer with a maximum wattage for their device. if your older fixture doesnt have some sort of engraving or sticker specifying id bring an old bulb, or the fixture to a lighting specialty store, or even home depot. good luck

ok, its wired like christmas lights (the older ones)…im sure you will find that you will simply have 1 bad bulb, if you didnt already know that. ultimately all i could say is pretty much the same as the guy above, in much less words (than me). take it in somewhere, its possible that there is a short, causing 1 bulb to consistantly burn out, therefore resulting in all them to quit because they are wired “in series”. you cant get around the fact that when 1 goes they all do. maybe use less powerful bulbs (lower volts/watts) but id stock up, and only replace the one bad 1 each time. sorry about the misunderstanding, and perhaps lack of help
