id like to provide some heat for my dogs in their pen, would a vaporproof lighting fixture be ideal?

i have 2 outdoor german shephards and thought maybe i would run a conduit beside their pen, set a box on the side of their dog house, and put a light inside to provide heat on these cold winter nights. would a vaporproof lighting fixture like this aluminum enclosed one be ok?….

i figured id put it on a switch and turn it on when i put them in the pen at night.
do you have any other suggestions that would work on two rough and rowdy dogs?
these are two outdoor farm dogs, they have blankets in with them that look like shredded rags, id say these heating pads would be a bigger danger to them cause they would be torn to shreds. i dont want to electricute my dogs. thank you

That light will not provide adequate heat for the dogs. Also, dogs need to sleep in darkness just like humans do.
I’m not sure where you live, but I live in Alabama and it is even 10 degrees here at night so I can imagine it’s just as cold where you are- in that case, your dogs need to be taken inside.

They make heating pads for dogs specifically for the outdoors. They sell them at PetSmart. I still suggest bringing them inside at night during the winter though.
