Do box turtles need to hibernate in super hot places like az and cali?
Can they live outside if it is over 100 degrees?
Do they need a heat lamp outside in the summer and winter?
because it gets over 110 sometimes is that ok for a pet
they do not need to hibernate unless it gets very cold, in az or cali they should not, as long as the temp never gets anywhere near freazing. If it stays warm they will not hibernate. They can be outside over 100, but will usualy stay under leaves or in a cool place if they are in the wild (if you are asking this because of a pet, then don’t keep it outside if its over 100) they probably don’t need a lamp outside at all, the sun is thier lamp, if its cold enough that they need a lamp they will hibernate. Remember these things live in the wild with no lamp, so if your keeping one outside it doesn’t need a lamp. If its inside it needs a lamp because it doesn’t have the sun
