I have a ceiling light kit that has a wall outlet, how I can hard wire the light?

I can buy a special kit suspension for shade to use in my dining room table. The pendant is actually a cable outlet, they expect the consumer hangs from the ceiling light and pass the cable through a wall outlet. There are black and white wires inside the cable-making transparency, it is kosher to cut the cable, remove the cables and hard wire in the ceiling (Which is code)? Something tells me this could pose any danger of fire or something, but I'm not sure. If you cut the cord and hard wiring is not an option, there are generic hard wire kits that work with a variety of shades? I've only been able to find a kit for a small glass screen -. I have a larger (13 "diameter) curtain fabric Any input would be greatly appreciated!
