Let me explain. I like tulips, even though the scene is flowers two to three weeks' time from mid-March to late May last fall I planted about 60 purple tulip bulbs in my yard. I was hoping anxiously for spring to come so I can enjoy these beautiful flowers. The winter was long and cold, with snowfalls that previous years. So, I was ready for the coming spring. Before planning your garden of tulips, make sure to dig down about two feet or more to see what the underlying soil is similar. If you have a layer of clay near the surface, deeper and replace the dark clay soil over rich. You can buy a bag of 30 pounds of soil in a home improvement center for under two dollars.
