Take black rubber tubing and cut a slit in it lengthwise. Then, attach the tubing on the bottom edge of the screen. Did the same to protect my marble hearth at my cabin vacation home and you can’t even see the tubing unless you are right up on it!

You’ll need to find the right diameter tubing to fit snuggly on the screen. You want it snug, but easy enough to pop on and remove.
