I need help with the lights low voltage outdoor?

I have a whole portfolio outdoor low voltage outdoor lights installed on my terrace. I bought a set including the transformer, cable and accessories. I installed according to instructions. They worked very well before putting the boards on top. Then, after I put the boards on top, did not work. I was very careful not to damage the cable in any way while I installed boards superior. I checked the transformer. There seems to be getting any power - even when the system is supposed to be ON. I wonder if the transformer has been damaged by the way they handled the end of the wire. Simply print and let it lay on the ground. The instructions did not say anything about it, so you only supposed to be well. Now I wonder if the humidity is the way he worked there and caused a short destroying the transformer.
