I like the items you picked individually, however, not together.

The hammock is really cute, however make sure your room is spacious and there is a corner or space that is put aside for it. If you got the hammock, I would do calm colors in the room, and not put the heavy curtains. I would stick with light furniture, so you really get a beachy feeling going on in the room. If that’s not what you want- then I would probably not get the hammock. However, I’m not saying that it would be wrong- it would be creative to try and mix some styles together.

As for the color, I think it’s really pretty. However, that’s not what counts. It’s pretty much only what YOU like. Make sure it’s a color that you didn’t just “fall in love” with, and that it’s one you won’t get bored of.

The curtains are way too heavy, and I think you’d be better of with some type of fabric-valance topping the windows. But if you’re going to be getting a bed THAT modern, then just a plain see-through sheer would be fine.

I can see that you have a LOT of different styles that you like; modern, beachy, funky, and bold. There is no problem trying to mix all the styles together, however, just make sure it ends up looking the way you want it.

When designing a room, it helps to keep a styrofoam board, and to pin down pictures of all the things you are considering for the space. It keeps you organized, and it’ll get a better picture in your head of what the room will look like. The items you chose may look good in the pictures, but you always always have to picture them together. Or else, once everything is in it’s place, it may not look so great.
