The purpose of accent lights is to serve as a compliment to your home. It is designed to give attention to a certain object, or create a focal point, such as a spotlight on a painting or recessed lighting directed at a collection of furniture. Depending on what is the object of accentuation is you may wish to use halogen bulbs as opposed to fluorescent (fluorescent have the tendency to drown out color).
