Wall scone lighting is ideal for rooms that need some accent lighting; they are also needed in stairways and hallways where there is not enough floor space for a lamp. Installing a wall scone on your own is a rather difficult job. However, if you love doing things yourself you should start by shutting the power off. Installing wall scone lighting is like installing a light bulb; only the bulb is placed on the wall not on the ceiling.

Find a receptacle you can use and then cut a hole for your switch. The cut should be a vertical one. When you are done, cut holes for the scones. Instead of cutting it vertically, you should cut the holes horizontally. After doing the entire cutting, you should run the cable from your power source, to the switch and the to your scones. Getting a diagram for the instructions is advised for those who plan to do this for the first time. This may be a simple installation for those who have experience with wall scone lighting, but for newbie’s, please try to get assistance from someone who knows how to install these light fixtures.

When you are done with the cable work, it is time to move to the second step -wiring the scones. You should attach the cable to the scone boxes by letting some of the cable protrude. Attach the fixtures’ boxes to the walls and make the proper electrical connections. After that, you can tuck the fixtures themselves and voila! You have wall sconce lighting installed.
