On the construction site there are numerous factors a project manager needs to take into consideration with the time scale of the build, the weather, the quality of the build and so on. The last thing that should be of concern to the project manager is the site security, with the safety of the employees and the risk of theft and arsene.

The project manager should have a security strategy for the duration of the construction buils, with specified construction security services in mind. Whether taking CPTED, “crime prevention through environmental design” or recruiting a professional security services company to come in, something must be done.

With CPTED in mind, the environmental factors are key for deterring potential criminals and should be a construction security service in its own right.

The design of the site should be an open space, with a fencing parameter and plenty of lighting day and night. The fences should be over 7 foot high so that passers by don’t have instant sightings of the construction site and the assets on it. There also should be lighting lighting throughout the site; around the parameter of the site, within the build and at the site entrance and exit. Then CCTV coverage will be able to pick up on the activity within the construction site. The CCTV will record footage of the staff behaviour as well as any suspicious offers the company added security that if any thing was to happen then it could be recorded.

During the initial designing period, it may be worth bringing in a security consultant to review the plans, and discuss where further professional security services could be implemented.

Well my 4 and a half week old son still sleeps in his bouncer in the lounge during the day, we have so much running around it is easier than putting him to bed all the time. And during the night we have him sleep in our bed it saves me having to get up during the night and feed, once he stops needing two to three feeds a night I will move him over to his bed.
