Lamp sizes range from small 25-inch to the tall 32-inch heights. There are even petite ones that are bought as collector’s item. Whatever the size that you need, you will surely find one lamp that matches the height requirement. However, when you buy your lamp, you cannot just grab a big one if your room is small and vice versa. The height and size of your lamp should complement the place where it should stay. The size of the table is also an important thing to consider. The general rule is one-third to two-third ratio for the size of the lamp and table. To make the right choice, it is best to measure the table before buying the lamp. Also, the size of the table should be proportionate to the room size. This way, your choice of lamp and table will not look awkward for a big-sized or small-sized room.

The table’s height will also determine the height of the lamp. The rule is that when the table is beside a sofa, you have to make sure that the lamp is at your ear level. This avoids the possibility of being exposed to the glaring light of the lamp.

Style

You can choose from a formal or informal style, depending on the theme of your room. You always have to align the design of your lamp with the existing décor in the house or room. It will reinforce the motif or the general impression that a room will create.
