Outdoor party lights are a great way to set the mood for an outdoor gathering. Outdoor living has really taken on a life of its own in the last few years. Simply put outdoor party lights are the perfect way to decorate and add a touch of flair to an outdoor area especially for a themed party. These lights come in different colors, shapes and styles to meet every taste and style. Typically they are made of different colored plastic and are strung up the way Christmas lights are. They run along the same electrical line.

Styles

There are plenty of styles to choose from. Many of the choices are whimsical and are made to look like animals. Some of the whimsical choices focus on other themes, like luaus or other tropical themes. Some are shaped like trees and crystals and cones. There is literally no end to what these lights can look like. They are made in a variety of themes from the classy to the sassy.

How They Work

Usually these lights are made like Christmas lights are so they work on the same simple principal. They are all tied into the same circuit. If one light bulb breaks the circuit by burning out than all the lights go out as well. Usually there are only ten or twelve lights per string.

These lights usually use candelabra type lights and are not necessarily that bright but they are bright enough to add just the right amount of light for outdoor parties at night.

Where to Purchase

Outdoor party lights can be found in most any place that sells outdoor equipment for the yard or deck. There are also plenty of online venues that will have these lights for sale. Home improvement stores are also a great option as is large discount stores. There are also some vendors that are dedicated to party supplies that also may carry these types of lights.

Cost

These fun lights are relatively inexpensive so they are affordable for everyone. They are not very durable so they usually do not last beyond two to five seasons depending on use.
