What time should I turn on my lamp and for how long?
I have a tropical aquarium without fish it yet, but in a few days just a bunch of tropical plants. How long should I keep the light on plants? I tried to imitate the sun should be 9:00-21 hours. Should I continue with this method or am I completely wrong?
10-12 hours is fine for most plants. Have you walked your tank to get the nitrogen cycle going? If this is not what you should do before adding the fish. High levels of ammonia can be very hard on plants and fish. **
