How do I ask for 3 days off (weekend) at my new job- its for my birthday!!!?
I’m starting a new job possibly Saturday or Monday, working at Wal*Mart handing out credit card applications at the main entrance… July 4th is my birthday weekend and I will be 21, I realllllllly want that weekend off since I have been planning for over 3 months that I will be heading to San Francisco with my boyfriend and friends. How can I let my employer know? I will be considered an “independant contractor” with them.
as an independent contractor they can not set your schedule
however they can decide to not use your services if you aren’t able to fulfill their needs just as with any independent business.
if you want to take off over a holiday weekend communicate that now.
the sooner you resolve this issue the sooner you can move on without worrying about it.
